MIU MIU- What a woman wants, what a woman needs

Miuccia Prada brought Paris to a close this afternoon with a beautiful show that confirmed her status as the woman who know just what woman want- never mind Marc Jacobs and his Louis Vuitton fetishisms this morning.  But if talking of robust tweeted dresses and coats with exaggerated shoulders were nipped in to the waist, Miu Miu and its featured prim white Peter Pan collars, giant matching purses as clutch bags worn alongside them. Season's biggest trends: muddy palette, check. Blown-up proportions, check.

Miu Miu took the idea of a signature print and raised it by scattering embellished lily of the valley, swallows, dandelions and daisies over beautifully sophisticated dresses whose demure silhouette brought to mind Forties nostalgia-

Bows were a motif but somehow not girly- they came as twisted mink cummerbunds on tweed or silk dresses, as two sides of a lapel on oversized jackets dresses and on suede ankle boots-

It was languid and alluring, full of fresh new ideas for the new generation Hollywood chicks in the front row- the finale line up of dresses with full sleeves and flashes of flesh at the back surely inspiring them to become full -on silver screen legends.

KATE MOSS- Faraway.... for Longchamp

Kate Moss is back to collaborating with Longchamp. For the brand it wasn't enough to have her as their muse- they wanted her to get involved in designing the collection too. Each passing season, Kate is more and more involved in each detail of the Faraway line.
Faraway is the name of the exclusive collection, which Kate worked on with Sophie Delafontaine, the brand's creative director. The collection sums up for what Kate looks for in a bag: something comfortable, light, spacious, high quality and durable. Isn't that what we all want?

ALEXANDER McQUEEN- Savage Beauty

New York's Met are to pay tribute to Alexander McQueen with 'Savage Beauty', an exhibit that will feature the most iconic and spectacular creations by the British tailoring genius.
The director of New York's Metropolitan Art Museum, Thomas B. Campbell, says that "Alexander McQueen's iconic designs constitute the work of an artist whose mode of expression was fashion". The exhibit will be based around a hundred pieces, ranging from his first collections to his last collection, showcasing the dramatic, barroque, dreamlike style of the late designer. The exhibit will be launched on May 4th, and will be open until July 31st. This is an event you can't miss if you are around New York in that time!
