Giddy Up- Show Pony

THE humble ponytail was the hairstyle of the season at the autumn/winter 2011-12 shows, with everyone from Marc Jacobs to Christopher Kane and Gucci pulling hair high up on the catwalk. Strict, clean, simple, natural - all words used to describe the easy style most of us pull our hair into every day. 

Key tips? Wear your pony low and loose if you're going for a mussed-up texture - as seen at Alexander Wang and Burberry. Avoid the My Little Pony Club-equestrian look by wearing a high ponytail in the centre of the head and no higher than the brow line, unless you're working it with an S&M twist like the girls at Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs.
